One of the greatest evils of our time is abortion. Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta was once quoted as declaring, "the fruit of abortion will be nuclear war".

Last November the pro-choice team of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton was elected into office, while here in Australia disastrous abortion laws were passed in Victoria. For over 10 years abortion has been legalised in WA.

What can be done to counteract this evil?

For over 30 years, the World Apostolate of Fatima has been promoting a prayer for the spiritual adoption of a child at risk of abortion. In 1976, the Sydney Archdiocesan Committee of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima (our former name) presented this concept to Bishop Muldoon, Auxiliary Bishop of Sydney. He took a great personal interest in the project and gave it his imprimatur in 1977.

So until the politicians come to their senses and repeal these iniquitous laws, here is a simple but positive action that we can all take, by spiritually adopting a child at risk and praying for that child every day.
