Letters Baby killingWhile not offering support for the actions of Keli Lane, convicted of killing her baby, I must say that the case does support the theory that the law is an ass. Particularly in Victoria, and I suspect in every other state and territory, babies at nine months gestation are killed by doctors, who do not end up in court but are paid handsomely for their efforts. However the doctors are very careful. The baby must be only partially in the throes of being born, before it loses its life - a very important feature of the operation.
