Reflection: Lent: our preparation for Easter - Bishop Anthony Fisher OP

On reading my published article in the March AD2000 on Private Revelations, I was surprised to see this statement: "It is important to remember that every authenticated apparition, including Fatima and Lourdes, began as a private revelation" (p. 12, column 2).

I did not write that sentence, and it is incorrect, for it implies that when a revelation is authenticated it ceases to be a private revelation. That is not so: a private revelation remains just that, whether authenticated or not.
