Letters Thomas Groome (letter)One has to wonder what the ultimate aim of our Tasmanian CEO is, in regard to religious education. The current RE texts are wishy washy enough, but now, to introduce the notorious Thomas Groome inspired works is inviting disaster. It is obvious to anyone that the system needs a drastic restructure with real Catholic material taught by real Catholic teachers. Anything less nullifies the claim to be a Catholic school. Do the CEO and/or clergy aim to raise souls to God or send them into a fog of confusion and ignorance? The Groome RE method is far from a positive move - more a walk on the dark side. C.
