Faith and reason (letter)
John Kelly

Fr Burns' reflection (April AD2000) is clear-headed and
timely: it exposes the fatuity of postulating "modernity" as a
criterion or substitute for divinely revealed and natural
truth.
Happily, with the establishment of Campion College and the
progress of the John Paul II Institute, students now have the
opportunity to experience an academically and spiritually edifying
alternative to the post-modern relativism and ideological
restrictiveness that in many of our educational institutions
undermine both faith and reason, as well as the complementary
relationship between the two characteristics of the Catholic
tradition.
