Letters Priorities (letter)I never cease to be amazed at the gullibility and hypocricy of the Australian people. After reading the articles in the newspapers and hearing television news on the purchase of genetically-modified corn for drought-stricken farms, and the protests of the activists, I can only come to the conclusion that we are fast becoming a nation of humbugs and hypocrites who have lost sight of our priorities. We now have laws allowing abortion on demand, the murder of the unborn, the use of human embryos for research and genetically modified babies. Very few people, and certainly none of the activists, have raised their voices in protest at these heinous crimes. What price our civilisation? It is merely a veneer. We are nothing more than a nation of barbarians playing with life, with little or no respect for life or the living. JEANETTE JOSEPH (MRS) Reprinted from AD2000 Vol 16 No 3 (April 2003), p. 15 |
