I refer to the article "Toowoomba's Creating Our Future - or a recipe for further decline?" (November AD2000). Stella Baxter, Chairperson of the Diocesan Pastoral Council, hopes we will find our "hopes and dreams for the Church in the Toowoomba Diocese reflected in these pages" (i.e., in Creating Our Future). Well, as a young Catholic, I certainly haven't found this to be the case.

Far from fulfilling any hopes and dreams, Creating Our Future is at best, nonsense, and at worse, a gross waste of diocesan resources. "It will make us accountable," says Bishop Morris. Indeed it will. If Creating Our Future wasn't so spiritually dangerous, it would be funny; instead, it is truly pathetic.
