Letters Protecting the unbornDr Mark Hobart is presently being investigated under state law for not referring patients to abortionists. Current Victorian law provides no protection for the innocent unborn from either abortion or assault on the mother. Such law contradicts the Victorian Supreme Court's own awarding of $89 million to disabled victims of anti-morning sickness drug Thalidomide, thus recognising the rights and identity of the unborn. This is a test case which recognises the reality of individual human life, both before and after birth. Giving women a legal right to abortion for any reason and legally compelling any doctor to implicate himself in the killing of the innocent unborn, are based on arguments twisted by expediency and selfishness.
