Hard teachings
Dr Arnold Jago

Pope Benedict XVI has a reputation for being a hard man - an "enforcer". Why not?
In John's gospel, chapter 6, Jesus' disciples, listening to his words, said, "This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?"
Then many of them left and no longer followed him.
Our new Pope knows that hard sayings are the very core of Catholic teaching.
