Church architecture

Dr Paul Mees' excellent article, "Modern church design" (February AD2000), was yet another valid criticism of an architectural movement that continues to create church environments no longer conducive to prayer, reflection and devotional concentration. "Spank the architect," by all means, as Dr Mees suggests.
However, unless we hold the facilitators and employers of the "architects from Hell" responsible for their intolerable undermining of a fundamental component of our religious tradition, we will never achieve a remedy or undo the damage. We will remain merely observers who are treated with contempt by those who are effectively weakening the Faith.
There has been too much dialogue, and too little appropriate action.
