Abortion (letter)
Betty Griffin

Some years ago, American Jesuit, Father John Powell, said while speaking of abortion: "Is anyone there? Does anyone care?"
In Australia, 100,000 abortions are carried out annually.
Many people are rightly concerned about disasters overseas, but why the deafening silence on the part of our media, leaders and families regarding this tragedy in our midst?
Senators Brian Harradine and Julian McGauren have the courage to speak out on abortion. But where are the other protesters?
One wonders, apart from dedicated pro-life members, "Does anyone care?"
