DAILY GOSPEL 2002
BIBLE DIARY 2002

(Softcover, $15.00; hardback, $25.00, Claretian Publications, 2002, both available from AD Books)

The Holy Father constantly reminds us to pray and meditate on the Scriptures, while the Catechism of the Catholic Church states: "The Church forcefully and specifically exhorts all the Christian faithful ... to learn the surpassing knowledge of Jesus Christ, by frequent reading of the divine Scriptures. Ignorance of the Scriptures is ignorance of Christ."

The Daily Gospel 2002 and the Bible Diary 2002 are two useful references for those wishing to meditate on the Scriptures while following the Church's liturgical calendar.

The Daily Gospel is pocket-size containing the texts of the Scripture readings of the Church's liturgical calendar with a useful and practical commentary. The Bible Dairy 2002 adopts the same approach, but is beautifully bound with allocated space on each page for the reader to use as a prayer journal.

Both books, with their excellent liturgical artwork, make reading Scripture with the Church not only convenient but enjoyable.
