Wimsey or whimsy?

Wimsey or whimsy?

Terri M. Kelleher

The following is in reply to the 'Correction' in the May edition of AD2000.

Dear Mr Bunter: I am assured by Lord Peter that he was not in the least perturbed by the misspelling of his name in my article in the April AD2000. In fact he was so absorbed by my review that he did not even notice.

He has also assured me that his dear mother, the Dowager Duchess of Denver, took no offence either. She enjoys a little bit of whimsy. His stuffy brother, the Duke, and his unbearable wife the Duchess of Denver, do not read such serious magazines as AD2000 and therefore will not have noticed. So no harm has been done.

However, if it has offended you dear Bunty, I do extend to you the most felicitous courtesy of noting that the correct spelling of his Lordship's name is Wimsey.

I remain, Mr Bunter, a fervent admirer of your devotion to Lord Peter.
