I am always happy to get my copy of AD2000. In the current issue (March 2001) I read Michael Rose's article on the numbers of vocations in various American dioceses. I have this comment. He should have written something about the role of the parish and the parish priest in the whole vocation question.
Saint Agnes Parish currently has ten seminarians in the two archdiocesan seminaries and in the past 18 years we have had 18 First Masses celebrated by young men from Saint Agnes. And this Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis is far from being a conservative one. Vocations come from parishes and eventually serve dioceses.
