Thank you for your most interesting review of the new English translation of the Roman Missal. I merely comment on one matter here. You wrote that the Lectionary text will be taken from the NRSV, corrected. I wonder whether the Vox Clara Committee, and Cardinal Pell in particular, are aware of the English Standard Version? It is a conservative revision of the RSV, and was first pulished in 2001.
Here are two examples of NRSV and ESV renditions, taken almost at random:
John 19:5, NRSV: "So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, 'Here is the man!'"
ESV: "So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, "Behold the man!" (Greek: idou ho anthropos).
Romans 9:5, NRSV: "To them belong the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, comes the Messiah, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen."
ESV: "To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen."
