Invalid concept

Invalid concept

Robert Prinzen-Wood

I liken the desire for same sex marriage to a man who stands next to a wall painting a target around an arrow already stuck in the wall. The man then says, "Look, I've hit the bull's eye."

The man is trying in retrospect to make a meaningless, senseless act, such as an arrow stuck in the wall, into a meaningful one by giving it a meaning, or the appearance of meaning.

This is what the same sex marriage advocates are trying to do. They are reducing marriage to something meaningless by redefining it to whatever suits them.

Marriage is what it is, as it has always been in every culture and age: the joining together of one man and one woman. No government can change reality. Same sex "marriage" remains an invalid concept no matter how emotional the arguments might be in its favour.
