My most treasured memory of World Youth Day 08 was the Saturday night vigil with our Holy Father. I have never witnessed such reverence for our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and I was deeply moved. I also realised that night that I had just experienced the best week of my life with some of the coolest people around and I'd do anything to relive that experience again. I loved walking the streets singing and chanting and just hanging around other truly Catholic people. I've never been so happy in my life and I'm extremely grateful that I got to share that with Catholic youth from all over the world.

In the weeks following WYD it has become clear that I initially underestimated the impact that it would have on me. The brilliance of a week set aside to focus solely on my faith while surrounded by hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic, like-minded, young people was incomparable to anything I had previously experienced. This was the overall highlight of my time in Sydney and it was facilitated by time spent each morning in catechesis sessions, daily Mass, Youth Festival Events in the city, including adoration at the opera house, and the final Papal Mass.
